Helping coastal tourism SMEs and municipalities in the South Baltic area adopting circular practices to cut plastics, reduce food waste and improve waste sorting.
Overview: The project empowers SMEs and municipalities in South Baltic coastal tourism to move towards a circular economy by co‑creating, piloting and scaling solutions that reduce plastics, food waste and sorting inefficiencies.
Key objectives: Reduce plastic use and food waste, improve waste sorting and resource efficiency, and increase capacity of tourism businesses and local authorities to implement circular solutions.
Main activities: Analyse challenges and identify promising circular solutions; co‑create and run three regional pilot actions testing plastics reduction, food‑waste prevention and improved sorting systems; and consolidate and scale results through dissemination and replication measures.
Impact: Reduced waste and improved resource efficiency in coastal tourism, strengthened local capacity for circular practices, tested scalable solutions for wider uptake, and enhanced collaboration between businesses and municipalities across the South Baltic area.
