Using festivals to promote year‑round sustainable tourism in the South Baltic area by piloting circular solutions and boosting local collaboration.

Overview: The project strengthens sustainable tourism in the South Baltic area by using festivals as platforms for innovation, cultural exchange and cross‑border collaboration to create year‑round, low‑impact visitor appeal.

Key Objectives: The project aims to integrate circular solutions into festival operations, develop a festival‑driven sustainable tourism model, and produce policy and branding tools that support scalable, sustainable festival tourism.

Main Activities: Activities include assessing existing festival practices and stakeholder needs, mapping and testing circular solutions via an online application for SMEs, developing policy guidelines and a regional branding strategy, and preparing a scalability assessment with a sustainable roadmap and continuation plan.

Impact: The project reduces festival‑related environmental impacts, boosts local economies through year‑round tourism, strengthens SME capacity for circular practices, and provides scalable tools and policy guidance to embed sustainable festival tourism across the South Baltic area.
