Acronym: Ecomarinas

Project partners Member States: PL, DE, LT, SE

The project involves eight partners from Poland (4), Lithuania (2), Germany (1) and Sweden (1). The partnership is composed of municipalities, NGOs, municipal sport centre, university, marina and regional administration of PPs. The partners are supported by five associated partners which are environmental protection administration, municipality, association of municipalities, harbour management organisation and an SME from Germany, Poland and Sweden. The project is led by City of Gdansk – Gdansk Sports Centre (PL).The overall project objective is to identify and implement solutions improving sustainable water use in marinas aiming at reduction of pollution of the Baltic Sea waters.The project’s activities are divided into three content-related work packages beside management. The first one focuses on conducting desk research, study visits and dialogue with stakeholders. The second one aims at capacity building and transfer of knowledge. In this scope, the project plans workshops, preparation of self-assessment tool for marina administrators and awareness-raising campaigns. The last one focuses on tasting and implementing pilots in marinas focusing on sustainable water use.The main target groups are marina managers and their employees; boaters, sailors, visitors of the marinas; private entities operating in the maritime and inland tourism industry; sailing and motorboat schools, sports clubs, yacht clubs; local governments and the general public.
