Improving marina water management to reduce pollution and protect the Baltic Sea in the South Baltic area.

Overview: The project improves sustainable water use in marinas across the South Baltic area to reduce pollution of the Baltic Sea and enhance environmental management at waterfront facilities.

Key Objectives: The project seeks to identify and implement practical measures that lower pollutant discharge from marinas, strengthen local capacity for sustainable marina management, and raise awareness among stakeholders and users.

Main Activities: The project’s activities are divided into three content-related tasks: desk research, study visits and stakehold er dialogues to map needs and good practices; capacity building through workshops, a self‑assessment tool for marina administrators and awareness campaigns; and testing and implementing pilot measures in marinas focusing on sustainable water use.

Impact: The project reduces pollution risks from marinas, builds local skills and tools for better water stewardship, and promotes scalable solutions that protect coastal waters and support sustainable marina operations across the South Baltic area.
