Acronym: BLUE CRESCENT
The project involves 4 partners from Lithuania (2), Poland (1), and Sweden (1). The partnership is composed of a governmental organisation, an NGO, and 2 universities. There are no associated partners in the project. The project is led by the Administration of Lithuania Minor Protected Areas (LT).
The overall project objective is to promote the blue economy and sustainable use of water resources in the South Baltic Area in a complex way through facilitating the creation of a protected area across the maritime border of Poland, Sweden, and Lithuania.
The project’s activities include the development of thematic reports, guidelines, and a methodology on maritime protected area set-up, networking, public awareness and education campaigns, management activities, and promotional and dissemination actions.
The main target groups are conservationists, environmentalists, thematic NGOs, governmental agencies and policymakers, researchers, and scientists.
