Supporting small ports in the South Baltic area to diversify and develop new products from aquatic ecosystems through innovation and collaboration.

Overview:
The AquaGOOD project involves partners from Lithuania, Poland, and Sweden, aiming to promote the diversification of products harvested from the South Baltic aquatic ecosystems. It focuses on increasing cooperation between SMEs and research institutions to develop innovative solutions for local industry.

Key Objectives:
The project seeks to facilitate technology transfer and foster collaboration, supporting the development of new seafood and thalassotherapy products. Its goal is to enhance economic diversification and innovation in the small ports of the South Baltic region.

Main Activities:
The project starts with establishing a cooperation network and conducting surveys of existing aquatic goods. It then moves on to develop cross-border innovative seafood and thalassotherapy products. Training programmes and feasibility studies will support SMEs in implementing these innovations. Additionally, best practices will be shared through local showcases and training sessions to promote knowledge transfer and practical application.

Impact:
AquaGOOD aims to strengthen the innovation climate in the South Baltic small ports by turning them into centres of blue economy innovation. It facilitates collaboration between SMEs and research bodies, reducing socio-economic disparities, and boosting the use of advanced technologies in seafood and thalassotherapy. The project will revitalise small ports, diversify their economies, and increase the international competitiveness of local SMEs, promoting sustainable regional growth.
