The future project aim is to formulate a set of tools to support active development of peripheral costal region of South Baltic area by focusing on local ports. The project applicant identified several potential areas of economic activity which might be the driving force for coastal areas development: new production and cooperation methods, divers tourism, sailing, water sports, environmentally-friendly fishery, mariculture and offshore industry. The future project activities will focus on development of socioeconomic potential of local ports and their transregional cooperation. The project will create a platform for all SB local ports to exchange their experience in handling vital issues important for their developments and well-being of the communities they serve. The expected tangible result would be a catalogue of best practice that would be inspirational and have the quality of transferability to different South Baltic small ports.
