Acronym: Horse tourism for everyone

Transforming the South Baltic area into an inclusive horse tourism destination to support sustainable development and enhance quality of life.

Overview: The Horse tourism for everyone – Fostering inclusive & citizen-oriented horse tourism development in the South Baltic area project aims to transform the South Baltic area into an inclusive, year-round horse tourism destination. By utilising the region’s scenic landscapes and proximity to tourism hotspots, it seeks to create sustainable and resilient tourism opportunities that enhance the quality of life for both visitors and residents.

Key Objectives: The initiative focuses on developing horse tourism to support sustainable tourism, prolong the tourism season, and provide non-seasonal income opportunities. It promotes equestrianism as an accessible, inclusive activity that benefits inhabitants beyond economic aspects.

Main Activities: Activities include building regional partnerships for inclusive horse tourism development and upgrading infrastructure by piloting next-generation horse trails that offer multi-faceted experiences. Product innovation launches new horse tourism offerings, such as horse walks for company teams and yoga with horses for locals. A marketing campaign seeks to reposition equestrianism as an inclusive leisure activity, promoting the area as a “horse tourism destination for everybody.”

Impact: The project strengthens horse tourism in the South Baltic area by leveraging partnerships and innovative approaches, encouraging wider participation among visitors and locals. By enhancing equestrian tourism, the initiative improves residents’ quality of life and fosters sustainable development across the region, offering a model for other areas to follow.
