The objective of the future regular project is to decrease the negative impact of road traffic on the environment by developing methods to detect, assess the impact, and counteract congestion on highvolume roads. The project will make the best use of traffic data and modern approaches to recognize traffic flow patterns and analyse the impact of congestion. Traffic simulation methods will be used to evaluate the effectiveness of measures to mitigate congestion impacts.
