The idea of the seed money project ESPRIT2GO stems from the project ESPRIT, which is currently being implemented under the Green Vehicle Initiative of HORIZON2020 (project implementation time: 2015-2018). The project addresses the field of personal rapid transit (PRT), a rapidly growing field of shared mobility, by the use of electric vehicles that are said to be the future of the urban mobility by reducing pollution and decreasing dependence on fossil fuel.
The ESPRIT2GO project intends to implement at least 2 pilots (building on the idea of the towable road trains easily distributed and collected by the fleet operator): one in Świnoujśćie (the Swina river mouth) and another location is still to be decided (the Oresund region is identified as a place with high potential for PRT) – the purpose of the seed money project is to identify locations with high potential for pilot investments in sustainable transport services.
