Improving cancer care in the South Baltic area by using digital solutions for home monitoring and rehabilitation to enhance patient outcomes and accessibility.
Overview: The AMBeR project addresses the disparities in innovation and healthcare access across the South Baltic area, particularly between urban and rural regions. These disparities are highlighted by the challenges rural residents face in accessing specialised cancer care compared to urban patients. As the number of cancer cases rises due to increased life expectancy and better diagnostics, innovation is crucial.
Key Objectives: AMBeR aims to improve cancer care by encouraging shared experiences and knowledge among its partners. It focuses on implementing telehealth solutions, such as home-based treatment monitoring and electronic rehabilitation, which could enhance patient-centered care and improve outcomes for cancer survivors.
Main Activities: The project promotes the use of digital technologies for home diagnostics and rehabilitation, reducing the need for hospital visits and making early rehabilitation accessible, especially to those in rural areas.
Impact: AMBeR seeks to empower patients and improve their quality of life by reducing social and geographical health care inequalities. By improving accessibility, it contributes to better treatment quality and efficiency. This cross-border initiative will offer models that can enhance healthcare delivery throughout the South Baltic area.
