On April 15, the Communicating Operations of Strategic Importance (OSI) meeting was successfully conducted, uniting representatives from the Interreg South Baltic Programme projects recognised as Operations of Strategic Importance. The primary focus was on understanding the significance of OSI, enhancing communication of activities, improving visibility, and organising effective promotional events.

Participants included representatives from four OSI projects co-financed by the Programme:

Ecomarinas: Promoting sustainable use of water

LIMIT: Promoting sustainable use of water

Circular Ocean-bound Plastic (COP): Supporting a circular and more resource-efficient development

D-EFFECT: Strengthening cooperation capacity among actors in the South Baltic Area, including civil society

In addition, members of the Programme’s Managing Authority and the Joint Secretariat were present.

The meeting commenced with an opening by Ms. Magdalena Bednarczyk-Sokół, Deputy Director of the Territorial Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy.

After the introductions, participants engaged in an interactive online quiz based on the European Commission’s publication, Communicating Operations of Strategic Importance in 2021-2027: A Practical Toolbox. This activity allowed attendees to assess their understanding of OSI concepts.

The Programme’s communication officer, Katarzyna Sempołowicz-Lipska, introduced innovative OSI promotion strategies, followed by a Q&A session that boosted discussions on effective promotion and communication of OSI events.

The meeting also featured a practical exercise focused on event planning, utilising concrete guidelines and a checklist to help participants to meet all requirements, and explore AI tools for organising successful events.

In the latter part of the session, attendees shared their visions for future events and sparked inspiration through collaborative discussions.

The meeting concluded with a summary and closing remarks, highlighting the importance of ongoing collaboration and communication in achieving OSI goals. It represented a significant step toward strengthening communication efforts within the OSI framework.
