World Youth Skills Day 2022

World Youth Skills Day 2022

15.07.2022

Today we celebrate World Youth Skills Day, an annual celebration that promotes the importance of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to develop professionally the future generations. This year the event focuses on the socio-economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic that is interconnected with challenges such as climate change, conflict, persisting poverty, rising inequality, rapid technological change, demographic transition and others, and the new skills youngsters need to face a constantly changing world.

Interreg South Baltic supports projects in the field of Skills&Labour, one of the main specific objectives. BBVET is one of the projects financed during this programme, which aimed at developing the first international cross-border VET education in the green and blue sector, involving 40 students and 5 countries. It laid the groundwork for the future integration of an international VET program into national or regional education plans in the South Baltic area.
