The seed money project MITRA idea is stemmed from the challenges arising from the demographic change: accessibility to transport services for elderly people in many areas is restricted due to physical barriers and distant service points. In order to solve this, the project idea lays in implementing flexible, demand-responsive, door-to-door micro-transport services (Electrical Power Assisted Cabin-Cycles, EPACs) to support mobility of elderly in urban regions. The main project will be built as follows: firstly, the necessary analysis within the seed money project will be performed (analysis of state of play of micro-transport solutions and elderly needs, followed by analysis of the legal and regulatory framework for the EPACs use). The results will be further used in developing a service model applicable for roll-out of the micro-transport service in the South Baltic region. The model will be tested by actively involvement of the target groups in the test areas.
