The project involves five project partners, from Sweden (1), Denmark (1), Germany (1), from Poland (1) and form Lithuania (1) as well as ten associated partners covering all five programme countries. The Municipal Sport and Recreation Centre in Gdańsk (PL) has the role of the lead partner. Partnership consists of local authorities, universities and tourist/sport organisation. The core partners are supported by associated partners such as a tourism organisation, SMS cluster, NGOs operating in tourism sector.
The overall idea of the project is creating sailing paths, taking into account maritime heritage of the whole South Baltic region and combining sailing with visiting attractive places on the southern shores of Baltic Sea in different countries.
The project’s activities are planned in 5 work packages (WPs). WP3 is dedicated to developing new touristic products. WP4 is dedicated to testing of the created products by the partners’ vessels. The partners will recruit participants for testing cruises from the potential target groups: youngsters, representatives of business, tourists etc. Each cruise will be evaluated. After the testing phase, the created product will be evaluated and amended in a way to meet the requirements and expectations of both tourists and tour operators. Additionally, the products will be enriched by examples of sail plans dedicated to different tourist groups like youngsters, business etc. The last work package (WP5) is dedicated to the promotion of the Baltic Maritime Heritage Tours product. The project promotion strategy will be prepared by project partners. Project result is to increase tourism attractiveness of SB region by creating and developing a new ecofriendly tourist product based on historical Baltic trade routes (regi nal and international).
The main target groups involved in the project activities are:

  • Local actors like tour operators and representatives of maritime heritage sites;
  • Youngsters;
  • Representatives of business;
  • Tourists;
  • Tour operators.
