Boosting circular construction in the South Baltic area by helping SMEs trade and reuse second‑hand building materials.
Overview:
The project strengthens sustainable economic development in the South Baltic area by promoting a circular and green transition in the building and construction sector, with particular focus on reuse and trade in second‑hand building materials.
Key Objectives:
The project aims to facilitate knowledge exchange and build SME capacity to adopt circular construction practices, develop transnational partnerships, and expand markets for reused building materials.
Main Activities:
Activities include establishing a cross‑border network to share best practice and produce a report on platforms for trading second‑hand building materials; developing a training and partnership programme for SMEs; recruiting SMEs to participate in the programme; and compiling a final report summarising lessons learned and communication outputs.
Impact:
The project increases SME capacity to implement circular solutions in construction, expands circular value chains, raises awareness among businesses, public actors and citizens, and supports policy and market development for reuse and resource‑efficient building practices across the South Baltic area.
