Promoting the South Baltic area as a sustainable maritime heritage destination by creating and marketing cross‑border tourism hubs and experiences.

Overview: The project strengthens the South Baltic area as a cultural and sustainable tourism destination by creating and promoting a cross‑border brand of local maritime heritage hubs offering attractive visitor activities.

Key Objectives: The project aims to develop and market interconnected maritime heritage hubs that boost local tourism, support community engagement, and foster sustainable cultural tourism tied to the region’s seafaring traditions.

Main Activities: Activities include planning hub development concepts with broad local stakeholder involvement; producing promotional assets (audio guides, videos, an animated film) and a joint exhibition presence alongside a branding and marketing strategy; and creating innovative tourism offers such as craft workshops, boatbuilding demonstrations, guided visits, sailing or rowing tours, festivals and thematic events.

Impact: The project raises the profile of maritime heritage attractions, increases visitor numbers and local engagement, supports SMEs and cultural organisations, and promotes sustainable, community‑centred tourism across the South Baltic area.
