Promoting regenerative tourism in the South Baltic area to reduce seasonality and strengthen sustainable local economies.

Overview: The Regenerative Tourism (ReTour) – developing a new approach that accelerates positive change in tourism businesses, local communities, nature and culture in the SBA project develops and promotes regenerative tourism in the South Baltic area to reduce seasonality impacts and support sustainable local economies.

Key Objectives: The project aims to design, test and scale regenerative tourism offerings, produce strategic guidelines and marketing plans, and equip SMEs with a sustainability toolbox to foster responsible tourism practices.

Main Activities: Activities include joint study visits to gather good practice, stakeholder cooperation to define regenerative tourism principles, piloting six regenerative offerings with reflection and reporting, and producing promotional materials, guidelines, a self‑assessment tool, a toolbox and a joint action plan for wider dissemination.

Impact: The project strengthens DMOs and tourism SMEs to deliver year‑round, regenerative experiences, enhances destination resilience, boosts local economic stability, and encourages sustainable visitor behaviour across the South Baltic area.
