Equipping small and medium‑sized ports in the South Baltic area with tools and know‑how to decarbonise operations and comply with green policies.
Overview: The DigiTechPort2030 – Decarbonisation of Small Ports’ Ecosystems for Efficient Environmental and Energy Management towards South Baltic Fit for 55 project strengthens decarbonisation capacity in small and medium-sized ports across the South Baltic area by developing practical tools and piloting green technologies to reduce emissions and enhance energy efficiency.
Key Objectives: The project aims to equip ports with actionable solutions for the green transition, improve knowledge of applicable technologies and regulations, and support compliance with evolving EU policy on decarbonisation.
Main Activities: Activities include preparatory analysis and methodology development, implementation and evaluation of two types of decarbonisation pilot projects, knowledge transfer and sharing of best practices, and delivery of two core outputs: a Green Energy Harmonisation Toolbox for small and medium-sized ports and an EU Regulation and Green Policy Compliance Roadmap.
Impact: The project increases ports’ capacity to adopt green technologies, accelerates the green transition in port ecosystems, improves regulatory preparedness, and contributes to lower emissions and more resilient, energy-efficient port operations across the South Baltic area.
