The LoCaGas project focuses on developing the project concept that contributes to the transition to using renewable and clean energy. The objective of this project is twofold; production of green electricity and heat, and reduction of the emission of greenhouse gases by reduction of spontaneous methane emission from landfills and elimination of methane emissions from different types of off-gases. The idea aims at developing, testing and evaluating three different technologies for conversion of low calorific gases such as landfill gas with low methane content and off-gas from biogas upgrading to green electricity and heat.
The project is led by the Gdansk University of Technology in partnership with the Baltic Energy Innovation Centre and the Lithuanian Energy Institute.
