The Annual Event 2023 of the Interreg South Baltic Programme 2021-2027 will take place in the beautiful historic city of Växjö in Sweden in Elite Park Hotel & Växjö Konserthus.
The event will consist of two parts:
- Optional on 24 October
- Main event on 25 October
This time we focus on steering the development of good quality projects and networking.
Please, note that due to space limits, admission to the event is on a first come first served basis.
On 24 October, we offer a city tour of Växjö and a networking dinner. Both are optional, however, we encourage you to join us to get to know each other better and bust networking among participants.
The city tour is planned for two hours, 15:00-17:00. The tour guide, in the role of Växjö´s former governor Anders Koskull (1729-1746), will bring you on a tour through old streets and historic squares and alleys, showing links to countries around the Baltic Sea. Due to limited places, it is an offer on a first come first served basis. Successfully registered participants will be informed about details via email.
The networking dinner is also planned for two hours, 19:00-21:00, and will take place in Elite Stadshotellet, Växjö.
On 25 October, during the main event, Magdalena Bednarczyk-Sokół, the Deputy Director, the Territorial Cooperation Department, Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy, acting as Managing Authority, will deliver the opening speech and Małgorzata Skolmowska, the acting Head of Joint Secretariat, will present the State of Play of the Programme.
Activities of this day include networking and two rounds of workshops which will enable participants to delve into requirements and measures of the new programming perspective.
1. Better connected region with measure 1.2. Economic growth requires, inter alia, actions dedicated to the enhancement of SMEs’ competitiveness, and innovativeness, as well as their presence on an international market. Within this workshop, you will learn how the cross-border cooperation and support from our Programme can support SMEs to move from domestic to international business practices. Get to know more about expected results, and intervention logic and verify your knowledge with a prepared case study.
2. How to increase your cooperation capacity? Get insight into measure 4.1. Within this workshop, you will learn how the Programme can support you to strengthen your cooperation capacity and explore cross-border cooperation. This workshop will present the main challenges defined in the Programme Measure, expected projects activities, results, and intervention logic and at the end you will be able to verify your knowledge with a prepared case study.
3. How to prepare a good quality project? During this workshop, you will hear about how project applications are assessed, what are the assessment criteria and what were the most common mistakes in previously submitted applications. In the second part of the workshop, you can try yourself as an assessor and look for mistakes in fictional project applications. Later, the outcomes and how the case study applications could be improved will be discussed together and you’ll hear some further advice and hints that might be useful when developing projects for future calls.
1. Creating a logic of intervention: programme and project frameworks. During this workshop, you will find out why the logic of intervention is important? You will also learn about the structure and the composition of the logic of intervention, and the Programme specification: outputs and results indicators, you will practice definitions and examples and summarise the gained knowledge through a practical group task and quizzes.
2. Strategies to improve project communication. During this interactive workshop, participants will receive the tools and the knowledge needed to make their project communication activities more effective.

The Annual Event will conclude with a farewell speech.
