LYC SB – - Local Youth Councils in SB - An Effective Way to Promote Youth Participation

Project title
LYC SB – - Local Youth Councils in SB - An Effective Way to Promote Youth Participation
Project description
The project idea derives from the assumption that majority of local actors have not seriously considered how participation on international or cross-border levels could benefit individuals, governments and the societies. According to the project, young people feel poorly integrated in their societies, ignored or unprepared to compete on the labour market. The main aim of the future project is to increase local actors’ interest in capacities and commitment for participatory public policy through more active crossborder cooperation and networking. The future project will facilitate development of tools and mechanisms for more efficient cooperation and network for the purpose of the strengthening of the civil society. The project will enable creation or strengthening the available links between local government and non-governmental institutions by:
  • organisation of capacity-building activities;
  • development at least 3 conceptual documents (different ones for different partners);
  • organisation of events in each partner country;
  • attracting politicians, decision-makers, civil servants, educators, youth representatives and intercultural dialogue events;
  • creation of one or more cross-Baltic cooperation networks based on formal agreements.
The future project will be addressed to:
  • local governments (local authorities and other territorial self-government units or administrations);
  • youth organisations (for example Youth Councils – in Poland, “Round Tables” in Lithuania, and other);
  • international-level institutions (government authorities, NGO associations, organizations representing science and academia, community organizations).
